A weekend of family baking with little ghosts, Oreo and Biscoff chocolate chip cookies

We planned to make Halloween cookies together as a family over the weekend. The requests were for our usual favorites: Oreo chocolate chip cookies and Biscoff chocolate chip cookies.

Since it was Halloween, I decided to add one seasonal bake: ghost-shaped sugar cookies. No one wanted icing, though…

Iced cookies are adorable, but we wanted to enjoy eating what we’d spent time making, so plain sugar cookies won. I still wanted to give them a little personality, so I quickly made some icing eyes for the little ghosts.

Our family actually likes cookies, scones and muffins a little on the well-done side.
If we’re not eating them that day, I take them out when they’re just right, then bake them a little more the next day, just before serving. That gets them exactly how we like them.
For me, nothing beats homemade cookies fresh from the oven with a glass of cold milk.
