Starting the year with sugar

It’s already a new year. Each year seems to move a little faster. A glazed donut to start the day. Enough sugar to get going.
Baking madeleines again

I like the time spent baking, so I bake. I like bread made at home, so I bake. Sometimes going out to buy it feels like more work, so I bake.

everyone starts naming one flavor they want.

Chocolate,
matcha,
vanilla.
Someone even asks for the chocolate coating to be only halfway dipped.

Board games are part of the holiday every year. This one comes out without much planning. It stays on the table for a while.
Ending the Christmas Meal

Christmas has passed for this year. It wasn’t a showy dessert, but everyone finished the meal enjoying it.
Coffee in a Gingerbread Mug

December mornings call for a warm cup of coffee. A simple mug, a familiar smell, and a moment at the table.
Wrapping Presents

I don’t remember being like this before. I keep wondering if there’s anyone I might have forgotten.
Weekends and Sleeping In

A slow, happy weekend morning spent doing nothing. The best kind of happiness in the whole week.
